Statement on the killing of Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk was murdered in cold blood while exercising his right to free expression. Such violence is a direct attack on democracy — all the more troubling on a college campus, where open dialogue should be protected.

Action for Democracy condemns political violence in all its forms. Disagreement is vital in a democracy, but dehumanization and hatred have no place in public life.

We mourn Charlie Kirk’s death and extend our condolences to his loved ones. This tragedy is a stark reminder of the urgent need to restore civility, dignity, and shared humanity in our democratic discourse.
